Chances in Change

We are officially one week into being back to in person learning. My kindergartener has been absolutely over the moon about being back. The sudden change has definitely been a culture shock to Mama.
With the pandemic and all the stress that came along with it, it has been so hard as a parent to make decisions on what is the right thing to do. Saying no to group activities and things that are fundamentally necessary to a child’s growth for their safety has been heartbreaking. To watch my five year old, like so many other littles, adapt to this new chaos like it was just something normal has stirred a whirlwind of emotions in all of us.
With my wife going back to work as well, let’s just say things are a little upside down at the moment. Trying to take Everybody’s Mama to the next business level, trying to keep up with my fiction projects, and keep life organized with so many new changes has kept me overwhelmingly busy. Now, I suddenly have time I wasn’t expecting to have to focus.
I don’t have advice this week. I’ve been racking through the pieces of advice I’ve collected over the years just to get thru these last few weeks myself.
Instead, I have reminders.
Change isn’t always a bad thing. Even if it feels like it is. It only means new opportunities are coming.
You are perfect in your imperfections.
Drink some water. Take a deep breath. If you take meds, take them.
And remember you are always loved.
